Welcome
Welcome to Southwell Swimming Club
Southwell Swimming Club was formed in 1965, shortly after the opening of Southwell Leisure Centre, with the first training session taking place in September 1965. Since then, the Club has continued to develop and expand. It aims to promote and develop efficient swimming according to the Amateur Swimming Association Technical Rules of Racing.
We specialise in training ‘improvers’ to develop their technique and encourages participation in competitive events relative to age and ability. We are friendly and welcoming to everyone and treat all our members in a fair and equitable manner.
How the Club is Run.
An elected committee is responsible for the running of the Club. Committee members, who act on a voluntary basis, are elected at the Annual General Meeting. All members and parents or carers are eligible to attend the AGM.
The Club has a team of qualified coaches and poolside helpers who have all been through the C.R.B checking procedure.
Volunteers are required to act as galas officials (timekeepers, judges, recorders announcers etc).
Volunteers are always needed to help with running the ‘desk’ at training sessions and from time to time with social events, fund-raising and publicity.
